Who we are
Orange Sky (OS) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on the provision of free laundry and showers to people experiencing homelessness. We're growing, and fast. Since 2014, we've expanded our reach to every capital city in Australia and most recently, we have established Orange Sky New Zealand. Next steps include further growth in New Zealand, urban and remote Australia, and potentially elsewhere across the globe.
What we do
We build awesome tech solutions to amplify our impact on the community.
Our mobile laundry and shower vans are pretty unique, and there wasn’t any technology in the market that suited our needs. So, in 2017, we started building our own technology solutions to help operate our fast growing organisation with over 1700 volunteers across Australia and New Zealand. This technology has been instrumental in the sustained and forecast growth of the organisation.
We’re so proud of our volunteer management platform, and we wanted to share it with other organisations like ours. So, in 2018 we decided to convert the technology we had developed at Orange Sky (OS) into something that could be used more broadly by other organisations like us.
Our platform is the only purpose-built cloud-based tool specifically designed to help for-purpose organisations amplify their impact, and we’re looking for another Software Developer to join our team.
Why we need you!
Our team of developers are responsible for creating and improving the technology solutions used by Orange Sky and our Partners. You will find yourself working in a dynamic, cross functional team with designers and product management, along with other front-end and back-end developers.
Life at Orange Sky is exciting and rewarding. We value continuous learning and development through formal professional development programs, and both internal and external mentoring. We develop and build with our Partners, we are market led and care about improvement in both with what we create and how we create it. Daily stand-ups, planning boards, retros and all that usual stuff happens here – but we don’t just talk about creating things – we do it.
We have an amazing open plan office with plenty of collaborative spaces, breakout rooms and workspaces. You’ll find a ping pong table, synthetic grass flooring, whiteboard walls and plenty of caffeine to keep you going.
In a nutshell, we’re a supportive, outcome driven environment – we are professional, but a start-up (yes, some of us where shorts to work), set on making a massive impact in the community.
