Orange Sky is the world's-first free mobile laundry and shower service provided to people experiencing homelessness. We offer a platform for everyday Australian’s to connect by creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are too often ignored or who feel disconnected from the community. 

 

We currently operate in 31 locations across Australia and also in Wellington and Auckland in New Zealand. There are 116,000 Australians and 41,600 Kiwis experiencing homelessness, and we’re on a mission to positively connect these communities through clean clothes, warm showers and genuine, non-judgemental conversation.

 

The Role

To support our continued growth, we are looking for an exceptional Marketing and Communications Support Officer to join the team. The role will work closely with our Marketing Coordinators and Senior Marketing Manager, providing support to our Fundraising and Partnerships teams and the broader organisation.


The Support Officer will enjoy collaborating on a varied mix of marketing and communications campaigns and projects. You will have a passion for developing compelling visual content, and rolling up your sleeves to assist in the implementation of marketing and communications activities and campaigns to meet our organisational objectives.


You will be responsible for providing assistance to the marketing team, using basic to intermediate level marketing knowledge on a broad range of marketing programs and practices.


You will immerse yourself in the Orange Sky mission, brand and tone of voice to ensure our content and marketing tactics are impactful and tailored to our various audiences.


The role will be responsible for online community management across various social media channels, as supported by the Marketing Coordinators. You will look to strengthen engagement with our online communities, find ways to drive brand awareness amongst new audiences and support with the implementation of integrated marketing and communications campaigns to support the delivery of business objectives.


Specifically, responsibilities include:


Social media:

  • Social media content planning & execution
  • Online community management including regular management of incoming enquiries and working with the marketing team to build responses
  • Input into monthly insights reporting


Website support and maintenance:

  • Updating pages and building new website pages in Wordpress
  • Supporting the team with ongoing website management
  • Working with external providers to ensure the upkeep of the website.

 

Email Marketing:

  • Oversight of email marketing campaigns from start to finish
  • Includes proofing and editing content, developing and sourcing creative assets, building templates and campaigns, testing, sending and reporting

 

Design:

  • Manage incoming design requests and support the team to further define and build the brief
  • Strong skills in Canva designing and editing assets essential
  • Experience using Adobe Suite desired, but not essential (particularly InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop)
  • Experience briefing job requests to external graphic designers, photographers and videographers.

 

Marketing support  (other):

  • Proofing and editing content across various mediums and audiences to ensure content adheres to brand tone of voice
  • Managing imagery and videography libraries and naming conventions
  • Gathering data across a range of platforms for team analysis and reporting
  • Influencer and ambassador research and outreach support
  • Marketing and fundraising campaign support including management of suppliers and project timelines
  • Managing subscriptions and licenses, and following through on requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordination of team meetings, agendas and action items
  • On the ground coordination and support for events, activations and meetings.
